Submission Guidelines

We are here to enjoy poems. Wonderful poems. Poems that can turn a dull day brighter. Poems that can reach hearts and souls. Poems that we love.

As a poem-loving community, let’s take an oath to follow these guidelines and make a nonsense-free space.

Submit only original poems
How would you feel if someone stole your poem and published it with their name? Bad. Right? Please refrain from forgery. Make sure all poems submitted on are original.

Let everyone know ‘What is the poem about’
A verse always makes more impact if some secrets are revealed. When you are posting a poem, add a little description about it so that readers know where you are coming from. This will help them relate to you and your poem better. Try your best not to leave the ‘What Is The Poem About’ column empty. It’s there for a reason.

Read. Comment. Rate. Share.
Doesn’t it feel great when someone talks about your poem and acknowledges you with kind words? Pass on the feeling. Take a pledge that for each poem you post, you will read, comment, rate and share at least 5 poems penned by your fellow poets. Bet you will make some amazing friends by following this rule.

Your Poems Are Yours
The copyright of your poems are completely with you though we take the liberty to publish and distribute your poems online, electronically and in print media.

Refrain from being rude
“This is a horrible poem.” “DISLIKE.” “I hate this poem.” What’s the point of such statements? If you are in a bad mood, sweat it out at the gym and feel good about yourself. But please please please make sure whatever comments you are making are meaningful and do not hurt sentiments. It’s absolutely okay to not like a poem, but criticism is an art. It can be done in a gentle way. A little foam before running the blade, often results in a good shave 😉

Report abuse, bugs and suggest improvements
We are waiting to hear from you. If you see abuse, shoot a mail immediately to HighOnPoems at gmail dot com. If you have located bugs, tell us and we’ll fix them in a jiffy. If there are other features you want us to add, let us know. This is your community; help us make it the best it can be.

Keep it clean and no nonsense
Do not post sexually explicit poems, poems with elicit and objectionable language, poems that contain hateful messages and slurs, or any other poems containing incendiary topics or viewpoints. This is a worldwide community of millions of poets from every race, religion and background. Treat each one with due respect.

Refrain from offensive comments
Don’t expel personal frustrations or go on about issues when reviewing other people’s poems. A constructive and supportive feedback works best. Let’s try not to crib and whine.

No Cheating or Violation Please
Creating multiple accounts, posting stock reviews is something we do not appreciate at all. HighonPoems team is working day and night to foster poet communication and make this website a wonderful experience. Cheating undermines the community and discourages others from making meaningful contributions.

Also, do not post anything that violates the laws of your country, state, province, or city. Don’t try to trick people into sharing their personal information, steal info (like copyright or trademark material), or break into places you shouldn’t be. Do not threaten, harass, impersonate, or hurt others, and don’t invade other people’s privacy.

Last but not the least, DO NOT post links to sites that contain viruses or malicious programs that interfere with the operation of

We are all creating art here. Let’s never forget that.
