My name is Cheryl Denise Chandler and I have been writing for as long as I can remember. My very first publishing was through the YWCA here in Baltimore, Maryland. It was 1979 I work with the newsletter there. A couple of people on the staff took me to interview a very successful modeling agent. Mr. Travis Win-key. They had camera's, tape recorder and I performed my very first interview. I have a copy of that newsletter to this day wrapped in plastic. In 2008 I won Editors Choice for my poem “Disappointment and Anger”. Poetry. Com an affiliate of the International Library of Congress published my poem. The anthology named “Collective Whispers”.In 2010 I reached my goal of having 35 poems copy-written through the Library of Congress. This April 1,2014, I discovered April is National Poetry month. My birthday is April 7, how I never had knowledge of this is beyond me. Since then I have written 54 poems, entered several poetry contests and signed up for 3 very helpful newsletters.I won Honorable Mention from Famous Poets. My poem “My Blanket of Promise” is published in their 21st Anniversary Celebration Anthology. Famous Poets of the Heartland. The poem was also recorded on Audio CD. Famous Poets commissioned Mr. John Campbell whom is well known for playing Hamlet, in Shakespeare Plays.Just recently in this new year 2015 I have been contacted once again. Two more of my poems have been selected for Famous Poets anthologies. My poem, “Gracefully Upon Us” will be published in their antholgy Great Poems of the Western World. My poem, “Endearing Always Forever” will be published in their antholgy. Heartland Poets both will also be recorded on CD. I am so very gratefull and honored for this priveledge.Poetry Nation selected my poem “My Shoes” to be published by Eber &Wein Publishing. Their multi-series, Across The Way. Subtitled: Rivers. December 12, 2014 Eber & Wein Publishing included me in their call, for the most accomplished amateur poets of today. I submitted my poem, “Dismiss Negativity” for their second annual, special edition anthology' Who's who In America. The Lord has truly blessed my re-entry into the poetry world.I am a member of 3 poetry communities. Poetry. Com, All Poetry. Com, and Poetry Soupsters. Com.At this time I have submitted work to 3 different christian magazines. And so very thankful to be in possession of 2015 Poet's Market. I am still entering contest as of today.

City Spring Night

City Spring Night long poem

Tonight a fresh spring breeze flows into my window. Listening to all the sounds in this city. There are so many. Cars with engines roaring, racing up and down this city street. Ambulance sirens with fire trucks screeching and; hollering

Love Is Key long poem

Mental Illness not just a topic of discussion. A subject that many distance themselves from. As if they will suffer severe repercussion. The true reality of this illness is cast down. Ignored and simply dismissed. Biological and spiritually. This illness
