Edward Estlin Cummings known as E. E. Cummings was an American poet who has approximately 2,900 poems on his name. He is remembered as an eminent voice of 20th century English literature. Despite Cummings’s experimental style, much of his work is quite traditional and his poetry deals with themes of love, nature and the relationship of an individual to the world. His poems are often said to be rife with satire too. While some of Cummings’s poetry is free verse, many have a recognizable sonnet structure. A lot of his poems are satirical, address social issues and incorporate phonetic spellings intended to represent particular dialects. He was distinguished for the symbolism and allegory in his poems.
