Before The Moon Cried

Before The Moon Cried short poem

The ocean stretched out into infinity
Like an endless dancing bluebell wood
Gathered together and wrapped
In fluttering silken whispers,
Sometimes glowing sun paths
Criss-crossed azure memories
And once more painted them
Into existence, and again
Life songs grew close
And remembered how
They used to sing together,
Before the moon cried
And the stars fell from the heavens.

The evening ocean was an invisible thing
Murmuring to the beat of its tides
In a darkness of deep black satin
Before the moon cried
And the stars fell from the heavens
Now it is sprinkled in gold and silver,
A glittering reminder
That beauty can be around us
Whether seen or unseen,
And sometimes in the shade scenery
Of yesterday leaving,
There can be the merest hint of tomorrow
Just waiting to glow…
