When Life Ends

When Life Ends short poem

When I was in his arms
Those days were not so pleasant but still calm
I don’t have a question ‘How?’
It was sure to come someday
And the day is now
I’m sleeping quietly in my grave
Moving towards a dark cave
Today I’m in the ground
Where dead and life both are found
I was in his arm
In the arm of life
Today everyone is gone
But still I’m not alone
I’m with a new friend forever
Today I know why
It is called our true friend
Because it still stays
When the life ends.

Left me wondering is ‘death’ the new friend you are talking about?
I have read many poems on death, but the perspective this one offers is so wonderfully different.
I often wondered, if the dead could think, what would they think.
Guess your poem has answered that question 🙂

Keep writing and sharing.
