Letter to a friend…

Letter to a friend… short poem

Remember that fairy tale we read together?

The prince and princess wearing crowns stellar

studded with the rarest of gems!

I got similar ones made by my jeweler.

But he said he’d have to use artificial colored stones

I Compromised!

And you remember we read about the lamp of glittery stone

which emitted the light of love?

I tried finding it in every nook but managed just an ordinary one

They sold it saying “it has the light of heaven above”

I bought it with the explanation.

I Compromised!

And how could I forget those fruits the prince plucked from the tree of wishes

each wish gifted to the princess.

I just bought a few fruits from the market of fruit and fishes

One of them was even rotten.

Does that mean our wishes are rotting out?

I Compromised!

I have tried to get most of the things we read about in that fairy tale.

Last night….

I tried to make that fairy tale a reality

But I couldn’t.

So I am giving up the real and going back to where we started.

No compromises anymore,

Hope you find me in the next fairy tale.

When poetry touches the soul, everything starts making sense. The inner world seems real and the outer one becomes bearable. When thoughts mixed with words travel through the empty spaces of mind, poetry happens to me. It always has been a mysterious force guiding me through. With two published books and one amaturish blog, I consider myself blessed to have started this journey. An old diary with think brown cover and an over used, end bitten pen. That’s where real magic begins! May you find your undiscovered meanings in my poems. May existence make sense. Even if just for a little while.

A very practical sense on the poem, yet walking sweetly with ones sense of dreams, and whims. A very nice write…
