Sometimes Life Sings In Shaded Silk

Hushed gossamer twinkling wondrous night skies
Crept on to tomorrow near tinted cloud dawn,
So familiar life’s hopes, yet still so much surprise
Each time a day cries with a sense of being born,
As scurrying down skies nervous fingers of gold
Gathered stars to themselves as they hurried away,
For their dream world awaited in diamond cut cold
On a rim where the shadows shook hands with the day.

And from pulpit silk shade came the sermon of life
Through the psalms of confession to prayers of again,
From the morning light kiss of a man to his wife
To the laugh of a child as it splashed in the rain,
And life’s soul tinted breezes of wandering flow
Wound around bluebell carpets immersed in the sun,
Satin gentian whispers that dance in their glow
Like an eternal tapestry constantly spun.

Some windows are glazed in life’s rainbows of peace
And some acid etched in a midnight of pain,
Yet life’s beauty can come as a sense of release
To unlock our doors and to free us again,
As eventually our dream gleams will shine through
From our backstreets of shade to our larks in life’s sky
From the lines that are false to the ones that are true
We need music to dance and a true heart to cry…
