Arrow Of Time

Arrow Of Time short poem

Photo by bibendum84

Swift entropic arrow of time,
You illicit my poetic freedom!
You vex me inside-out of rhythm,
Outside-in of rhyme;

You irreversible debacle
And thermodynamic oracle,
Too late I learn: in my present
Wanes a future crescent!

How like an even sun I set;
How, sliver of moon, I wane;
Loafer poet, how shall I not regret
The poems I didn’t beget?

Sharp-cutting quarrel*of time!
You aim for the jugular;
All I denominate as dollar
You decimate as dime.

I see a place with starless skies. I see a dark smooth world endlessly a float in the black, its star long since blinked out. Covered with small closely spaced geodesic domes. Geodesic domes all interconnected, all with conduits leading
