Down by the stream on Baker street
With the wind in my hair and cold achy feet I stand alone in the cold grey dawn Waiting silently, patiently and all forlorn
In the heat of a cold December night
You saw we fought, I tried and you cried But deceptive eyes can lead us astray But then again in the cold light of day
And now you are gone!
I watch through cold window panes
Raindrops like the tears of my pain Just a glimpse, just a sight Would end this cold night And the sun would come bright Shining through
Warming hearts and easing the pain
Burning rays to dry up the rain Your sweet smiling voice Your loving embrace Force the frost to recede And refill the space
Like a hunger to sate
In a cruel twist of fate
And in the heat of that cold December night
You saw we fought, I tried and you cried But deceptive eyes can lead us astray And then again in the cold light of day
And still you are gone
All I can do and all that I have
Is hanging in shreds all tattered and torn Dripping cold winter rain On this bleak December morn
