I Observe the Falcon

I Observe the Falcon short poem

I observe the falcon
His piercing stare keeping watch upon the land
Patiently waiting for his peasant prey to begin their greedful harvest

I observe the falcon
Leaping from his perch, careening through the skies
He is lightning, cutting through the atmosphere with speed beyond comprehension

I observe the falcon
His eyes fixed on his opponent in this race he’s started on his own accord
His talons outstretched in hope of grabbing hold of satisfaction.

I observe the falcon
Keeping his speed through the catch. Keeping his catch through the speed.
Fueled with nothing other than the wish to stay alive.
