Who Are Ye’

Who Are Ye long poem

(Recollections: Circa, 1999)

Every time when I’d thought of ye

My heart wondered – who are ye

May be, ye:

That first rain drop falling on a parched land

That flower which blossoms in a barren soil

That first vision of a new born child

That first sensation when an infant says Maa

That shadow which shades a traveler from scorching sun

That maiden flight of a bird in incessant sky

That unconditional love which a mother has for her children

That reverie of an aspirant

An unfinished poem

That bright tomorrow after every dark night

Those moments of happiness in this saddening world

That small world in which lovers are always lost

That everlasting trust between two people in love

That sound of heartbeats when lovers hold each other hands

That route which brings a lover to his/her beloved

That desire of lovers who are eager for a rendezvous

A shared dream which a couple has in their hearts

That wait until lovers unite forever

Words which confess you love

That passion of a person who seeks his love

That story which everyone wants to foretell

Those dying breaths of a person who holds on –

To have a glimpse of his darling,

The lust of a dying person who wishes to live

The sound of a temple bell

That prayer which praises the lord

That ever burning last glimmer of hope

You are a reason to live

And if not all of these

Every word in this piece of writing fits so beautifully..And Hope shines through as does love and faith. It’s refreshing to read a poem which is so positive and evokes a sense of calm. Great piece of writing @Meghdutam and the similes are so true ..

Who are ye, resounds with Who am I? Questions which even the ancient philosophers posted on each other. We ask because we have so many answers and not sure which is right.
