Loneliness

Loneliness short poem

Sitting alone
Just sitting and thinking
Simply deciding
But never confiding

A rise in emotion
But no sound
No motion

Sitting quietly
Hoping and praying
Simply tapping
Then suddenly snapping

At nothing and no-one
And now it’s too late
What’s done is done

And you

Defying and trying
Crying and crying
From extreme to extreme
Not how it should have been

Sitting in silence
Drowning defiance
Trying to ease
Trying to please

But no way can I say
The right word or phrase
And now my mind
Is lost in the haze

You see I count the ways
That I know I’ve tried
I think somewhere
I must have died

Sitting by the door
I remember long ago
Kissing life goodbye
And watching time fly

Living a dull life of routine
Like some kind of still dream
And now I dream
Of that simple routine

And you

You showed me what life
Was all about
And all the things
I was missing out

To feel the warmth of feeling
It sent my poor head reeling
Revealing my one true self
Lifting me down from the shelf
And you

I love you too!

Sitting alone
At home
By the phone
Just sitting alone

And waiting
