Paradoxical short poem

Thanks for the dark days of my past
For they brought bright gleams, present!

Disgrace, despair and distrust;
Took me to the source of love and reverence
Anguish, agony and neglect
Taught me the values of ethics and ethnics

Night skies make the stars lustrous
Rough seas,… the skilful mariners !

Nature stands adverse and arrogant
Sometimes, – to make man mature and tolerant
Hunger – the best recipe for any cake
That baked with full of delicious taste!

There lies hard rock below the brook
For its flow steady, smooth and brisk!
Leaders go self-reliant and cynical
To become selfless and societal!

Love is love, so far as reciprocal
Love is not love, when it is conditional
Immense thanks for the smile you always give
Indebted, whole life, to the tears you may give.

I salute the tumbling paths of my past
That trained me walk firm and stead-fast!
