The Sea Soaked She And The Sun

The Sea Soaked She And The Sun ode

Uploaded by Soumi Duttagupta

Away from the crowd
She whispered her tale.
To the cresting waves,
To the frothy foam,
To the flying seagulls,
They knew her soul.
They were waiting for her
To wash her heart.

She left the remains,
She was carrying within
For too long….
Along the shore
The sand wiped it
All at once…

The sun called her
By her name….
‘it’s clean my love,
Now there’s space
Embrace that’s
Coming your way’.

The sea whispered,
‘Breath in my strength!’
They all hugged her warm,

‘Go my girl,
The city now awaits you’.

Words entice me! I lose myself in the lilting rhythm of their swirls and twirls. A science writer by profession, an Odissi dancer by passion and a writer by instinct, I love to weave words to express the ethereal sensuousness of seemingly mundane things around. A knitted matrix of mother, daughter, wife, sister, friend and many more selves collate explicitly into an indomitable dreamer!! Sea Monkeys

Sea Monkeys short poem

Everything we know, or think we know, comes from an infinitesimal speck of time and space. “Important” people, just random specks of insignificance. Nothing more than Sea Monkeys, fluttering around Sea Monkey world. Everything spoken as truth only reinforces ignorance.

The Setting Sun

The Setting Sun ode

As I see the reddish blue of this setting sun, I’m suddenly brought back to a memory, of me and Liv driving down the road.  Her talking and me listening and driving towards the setting sun. I remember the colors,
