Now And Then

Now And Then short poem

Much time has passed, now and then
When incited by your furtive glance
I asked myself for the first time
Was this that one stroke of chance?

Much time has passed, now and then
When I dared to hold your hand
And feigned to read your fate
But saw my road take the bend

Much time has passed, now and then
When you shot me arrow upon arrow
Gored over, I could take no more
Had to leave, knew not where to go

Hopeless romantic, grounded realist, eternal optimist, brooding pessimist. All these are me. I am all of them, and then some more. Here you will find some of my poetry written between 1985 and 1999, a period when my idealism and abstraction topped the pressures of reality and sustenance.
