Myth Of Ocean Blue Eyes

Myth Of Ocean Blue Eyes long poem

Whispered names falling simply off lips,
Freckles that ripple on skin,
Azure eyes that flooded dreams.

Eyes may capsize stable thoughts,
Blindly wade into unknown waters,
Not knowing awaiting dangers.

A siren’s melody put in a trance,
A map to a damaged heart,
Keen and inviting.

A delicate dance between strings and fingers,
And passion that flowed from lips,
An unexpected distraction.

Interwoven fingers,
Drumming hearts,
An unforeseen conversation between two tongues.

Sweet as candy,
But as unknown as the deep sea,
The winds had chosen a course.

A faultless horizon,
A mixture of blue and green,
A steady voyage.

Ocean blue eyes pulling,
A strong tide,
Now treading in the deep sea.

Lightening struck,
A surprising mishap,
The course had been thrown off track.

An unrequited journey,
Cast aside,
And lost at sea.

Unable to tread,
Ball and chain around ankles,
Taken under by waves.

An aching core,
And a bittersweet sting,
Drowned the unforeseen conversation between two tongues.

Manipulated by a melody,
Deceived by whispers,
An uneasy voyage home.

Draining a leaking heart,
Unwanted memories washed away,
A myth made of ocean blue eyes.

A pair of hazel eyes look at me. Your ‘bandana’ runs up to forehead, a scarf covers nose, chin and below, the pinky complexion of your cheeks lures me to paint you as a lovely maid. There is no invitation
