One Day

I never knew that one day would be there When I would ask my existence from you
One day I would beg you to apply vermilion on my forehead
To name my child, to change my identity..
One day that one day when you would be my God
Even if I don’t look at you like that
That one day when I would be forced to touch your feet, to obey your orders,
To leave myself caged within the four walls of your heart…
I never knew that one day would be there
When people would judge if I chose to be a single mother…
that one day, when I want to be separated from you
to give my child, yeah just mine,
to give her the most brightest future,
to save her from your shadow,
from your fake promises, to save her from even the sight of yours…
That one day, when I could only yearn for,
Is to live my life, with just me,
when there would be no existence of yours…
when there would be freedom filled in the breeze
when I could feel myself, my heart beats
That one day,
that one day, when I would be just me…..
