The Fountainhead

You are the fountainhead
because when you speak, the river speaks
and it delights us with its continuous whispers
and it surprises us with its rapids:
Acute, frequent,
inherited from you

You are the fountainhead
Because you deliver the caresses of the water
always purifying,
giving cleaning,
making thirst go out
and offering food
with the divine taste
of freshness

You are the fountainhead
because you evoke those dawns
that give us the peace of nature
but that they become
in passionate and torrential outburst
to become beautiful sunsets
on the edge of the bonfire
where the fire rests

You are the fountainhead
because life flows from you
wrapped in the drop that feeds the flowers
and the birds
and the earth itself

You are the fountainhead
because you have the strength to make my words
drink from your source
to stay radiant
to repeat the cycle
and, with your renewed waters,
keep being
the fountainhead
