Compared To You

Compared To You short poem

Compliments are strangely empty
The words mean nothing
When the scars forever remain

One glance at me, he bluntly uttered,
I hope to own more beautiful than you
My first love
You devalued my existence

To this day I look in the mirror
Only to see a tainted reflection
Disregard the person who looks back at me
And find the girl you need to be more beautiful

Through your eyes, my vision adjusted
I see an ugly being
Distasteful and an eye sore
Nothing can compare
For I was far less beautiful in comparison to you
