Don’t Tell On Me

Dont Tell On Me short poem

Don’t tell on me, but yes, I can’t breathe no more,
This smile concealing my frightened soul, I can’t take no more,
Don’t tell on me; have lost myself in all these,
I’m just a walking robot, no one sees me, at least my real self,
Don’t tell on me, I just got to seduce the onlookers,
I can’t break my cocoon, oh! It would be a nightmare,
Don’t tell on me, but yes, I don’t mean a word I say,
I slay them all, I got wits you can’t blame me…

Don’t tell on me, but yes, I got my Bauta,
My decisions in this event matter, don’t try to outsmart me,
Don’t tell on me, I have to do this,
You never know who is watching and standing next to you,
Don’t tell on me, if you happen to figure me out,
But how dare you; no one can know me, no one…

Don’t tell on me, please don’t, I have to fit in,
What do you expect me do to? They can’t see my nakedness,
Don’t tell on me, it isn’t yet time for personal revolution,
It’s what the society wants, hiding behind whom I really am,
Don’t tell on me but it hurts not feel me,
Everywhere I look plastic faces, plastic gestures,
Don’t tell on me, but who are we really,
Angels or monsters…

Don’t tell on me, if you happen to see me,
But how can you, I don’t even know myself,
Don’t tell on me, but yes, I got to shed of some of it,
I’m so tired, so tired of the masquerade,
Don’t tell on me, but I got to tell on you all,
You hide behind your sorrows, depressions, urges & filthy intentions,
Don’t tell on me, but I fell like an empty tent lost in the wilderness,
I just need to know the soul behind the mask

I had a dream last night. It was very concise but interesting. Rather revelatory, but not prophetic in the usual way. There was a class with a facilitator encouraging input based on a lesson plan provided to the class. I,
