Waiting For You

Waiting For You long poem

Lying in the dark,
Waiting for the light.
The sun never rose,
And the days intertwine.
The void that grows,
Gets wider all the time,
And I’m lying here,
Waiting, waiting for you.

You,
You are my light,
You are my sunshine,
You are my lifeline.
You,
You keep me sane,
While the world around me changes,
Changes.

You stole my heart,
Never gave it back.
Walked away, then I wished upon a star.
Maybe someday,
We’ll be together again.
Now i’m lying here,
Waiting, waiting for you.

You,
You are my light,
you are my sunshine,
You are my lifeline.
You,
You keep me sane,
While the world around me changes,
It changes.

Now I dream of ways,
To bring you back to me.
I’ll take my time,
If that is all you need.
But I wake up again,
And nothing has changed.
I’m all alone,
You have gone away.
And I’m still lying here,
Waiting, waiting for you.

I will always be waiting, waiting for you.

I am a mother of two. I am pagan (used in the broadest sense of the word). I work for a school district as an ISS teacher. I am a crafter, a writer, a lover, a poet, a chef, and a caregiver. I love the kids I work with every day, and I love being able to see them grow. However, soon I will be traveling and be living in an RV with my fiance and my two kids.
