Demons And Angels

Demons And Angels long poem

Uploaded by Tina Stacy

How can a Love like ours end up this way?
How can the pain not go away?
I hold onto the memories from all the years.
I let it the pain through hundreds of tears.
My heart starts throbbing and I can’t sleep at night.
The demons that haunt me are too hard to fight.
They are constant reminders of me and you.
There’s not just one, there’s quite a few.
The demon of Love that won’t let me go.
The demon of pain that’s hard not to show.
The demon of thoughts that run through my head.
The demon of heartache that makes me wish I were dead.
You have brought all these demons into my life.
They have caused me pain, heartache, and strife.
They hover around me and consume my soul.
The darkness they bring continues to grow.
They hold me down with their shackles and chains.
I’m a prisoner on this hell bound train.
The Angels of hope and love are no longer there.
Facing these demons, they would not dare.
The Angel of pain has seemed to have forgotten me.
Will they hear my prayer and me free.
Can the Angel of thoughts turn the bad into good,
Or is it just a wish that they possibly could?
Can the Angel of heartache take away the pain,
Or will the demons inside me continue to drive me insane?
You see all these demons combined into one,
Burns my soul like the blazing sun.
It breaks my heart to admit it’s true,
But all these demons are really you.
No Angel of Love can come set me free,
Because my Love for you won’t let me leave.
