A Supple Heart

A Supple Heart short poem

I don’t know where to start
How to form the words
Countless questions, a million thoughts
My head is about to hurt

Treading along like a smooth sailing boat
Or so it seemed from a distance
Like a serene view from a porch
But as you draw closer, the ripples are clearer
All in plain sight, like the end is near

Few years gone by, mending a broken heart
Faith in love, hope in promises
All drifted apart
Until last night, that feeling changed
Something new was about to start

You sat there coffee in hand, I so terribly made
This spontaneous rendezvous over a chat room serenade
Confident claims about your magical eyes
I refuted bluntly and utterly denied
Woe is me as I write this now
Those very eyes have me completely mesmerised

We spoke little and stared a lot
A moment of silence and I reached out
To kiss those lips, just to get close
Sweet passion with wild thoughts arose

You smiled and I caved
No stopping now, pointless to behave
Our bodies one, we were simply having fun
And just when it seemed you were all mine
A call on your phone reminded you of the time

You left in a hurry making a promise
To see me later with a hug and a kiss
Watching you leave but I couldn’t let go
Apprehension engulfed. Uncertain of tomorrow.

A restless night, anticipation of morn
Couldn’t sleep a wink, where is dawn?
Alas, restoring my hope in promises
You waiting outside was sheer bliss

A little time we spent over breakfast and tea
Ride on your bike was as close as you got to me
But as luck would have it, it was time to leave
I made a promise, I knew I couldn’t keep

We said our goodbyes, a yearning in my eyes
Unsure of what lies ahead, of time and of tide
Know this my love, you are one of a kind
Of whom my heart seeks and hope one day I will find
A supple heart just like mine.

Reached, not yet pubescence: a cloud says, moon was crazy, treading on a forbidden lake of frozen tears. Breaking fast unto death for releasing the doves in sky of hymns. The gametes were weary. Procreation will wait. Let the dark

My Heart’s Heart

My Hearts Heart short poem

My heart took deep seat. Relaxing in the comfort of plush cushion. Neck twisted, head tucked comfortably in the nook of the chair. A glass of water sitting on the edge of the coffee table next to the remote control. T.V Turned

Empty Pockets And A Heart Full Of Gold

Empty Pockets And A Heart Full Of Gold long poem

I have empty pockets, and a heart full of gold. A family of eight, and friends new and old. I have blisters and bruises and cuts on my hands, no food for my family, and no wealth in my land.
