An Owl Song

Short hoo hoo to the distant space
A hoo hoo from an unknown space
The top of a branch perched in a tree
That is where the song of the owl begins

Carrying off into the wind at night
An owl that is perched not taking flight
Searching with the keen eyesight
Giving a hoo hoo for any others nearby

Owl a song a hoo hoo only heard
Hoo hoo the owl song after midnight falls
Who is the word of this predator bird
As the owl in the distant perched late night calls

Listening to another small and more high pitched
The two owls call a song to one another
Where are you two owls that are calling out?
Closing my eyes to wish to see the distant trees where the owls be

Knowing the hoo hoo is a call from they
The two owls after midnight that sleep all day
Communicating the nightly bird way
With a vocal of who who are they?

One male possibly one female to match
These owls that hoo hoo to gain an attack
Smart as they are to be in a tree
High up the two owls love to hoo hoo for me

What is it they do the two owls that sing?
Directing the movement into the prey with each hoo hoo they bring
Far to the left and far to the right
Together the owl song is the battle cry

Uniting the high flight and deep tone
Different directions of a hoo hoo owl song
The moment of sight to capture the prize
Keen are the two owls who sing the song at nights eyes

Profile photo of Kristina Anne-Paula Whitmore
I am a single twenty-seven year old that finally is finding a route towards insightful and healthy expression. I have always loved nature and animals as well as observing the beauty of the stars at night. Some things that I love are singing and expressing my personality. I am just a woman who has always enjoyed being imaginative with literature. Which is why I love writing and dream to graduate from college one day. What inspires me are instant moments in nature that spark imagery within my mind. I have just recently begun trusting to open up in a written form about my past after much inward reflection and outward neglection. It has taken time to care enough about my own thought processes and writing feelings down again. I am thankful I am finding a wonderful way of reminding myself that I am capable of artistic value even though I have had confidence issues. Thanks for taking the time to read about me.
