A Visit From A Ghost

A Visit From A Ghost ballad

Uploaded by Richard Rosenberg

I entered their Kingdom,
Where once I did sing them,
To sleep
As they lie in their beds.

Their eyes slowly closing,
Their heads softly nosing,
The pillows
That lie ‘neath their heads.

I saw their chests rising,
And felt quite surprising,
At the bottomless
Love that I felt.

I leaned down to kiss them,
And knew that I missed them,
Then rose,
As my heart it did melt.

I remembered their laughter,
Even from the hereafter,
I could still hear
That twinkling sound

Their chuckles and giggles,
Their squirmings and wiggles,
As they playfully
Danced all around.

And then, quite surprising,
Their eyelids were rising,
And stared at me
With eyes so deep,

They cried “Daddy we love you,
And always think of you”
And then promptly
Fell back asleep.

My heart it was singing,
I heard bells a-ringing,
As I rose
With the clouds at my back.

From on high above them,
I swore that I loved them,
And Whispered:
“Dear girls, I’ll be back”.
