My Father, My World!

My Father, My World! prose poem

Uploaded by Monica Rupazo

Who am I, without the presence of my father?
Who am I, without the support of my father?
Who am I, without the mercy of my father?
I am nothing, without the love of my father.

All that I am,
All that I will ever be,
Is because of a seed
That was generously planted
In this generation.
Brought with blessed tidings wrapped in my arms
Positive change engulfed in my fists
Love in my heart
And beauty that I see,
You chose only the best for me.
The best schools,
The best decisions,
The best mother,
The best brothers,
The best family.

I grew up in that best,
And yet in my growing,
I realised a world without you,
Is imperfect.
In its enviousness,
The world sought to take what was mine.
My joy, my peace, my love….

But because I was born out of a Godfearing father,
A zealous man,
A strong man,
A determined man,
A hardworking man,
A passionate man,
A positive man,
… I too, became like you.

So when the world sought to take my wealth,
I only grew stronger,
And became even richer.
In it’s canning desire to tempt me from my path,
I will never fall short,
Because what you have given me,
No man,
Nothing that breathes,
Nothing that cannot breathe,
Can take it away from me,
For I am my father’s daughter,
And your legacy will live on in my heart and life forever,
With the Grace of your heavenly Father,
Whom you chose for me to believe in.
I love you…❤
Happy Birthday!!!
