A New Soul

A New Soul short poem

The skies smiled above,
The moon peeped through the cracks,
Clouds black than usual,
A new life arrival waited,
A pain so enormous,
She bore it courageously,
This life had to survive,
This life wasn’t hers anymore,
But every ones’

All held their breath,
Some beat the drums, others praised the creator,
She moaned joyfully,
Soon she won’t be just her,
Soon a soul will depend on her,
The clan will accept her,
He looked confused,
Was he happy or scared?
First time is scary,
What will he do with two mouths to feed?
Will he be happy with it?
The sweet scent of roses bypassed him,
Sign of Fresh possibilities

From afar, smoke rose,
Men drank from the same pot,
Women covered her with “Lesos”,
She had done it, so bravely,
He was a part of the clan now,
The rains poured so melodiously,
The crickets singing so beautifully,
Yet another life to hunt them down,
Poor them…

Matthew looked happy & contended,
He had done it, he was now promoted,
And so was she…
With the soothing rain,
Sweet Serenade of Cuckoos,
He was named,
The name of great Priests,
He smiled, they all did…
All drank to satisfaction, danced till dawn,
The sun was late that day,
A new life preceded it

New Sod

New Sod short poem

This day of sixty fruitful weeks shadow pristine relics of bundled keepsakes adorned in obsolete gazettes of passing snow storms, puppy training and next door’s junk mail. Transition logs re-call six states, five military orders, four duty stations, six rusted
