Change

Change short poem

If you see a change in me
It’s not because I want it you see
It’s hard to be who I want to be
When I’m pushed to the limits you see
I’ve had the soul ripped out of me
Broken down reduced to almost nothing to be
Everything I love slowly taken away from me
Here I stand now tall and emotionless you see
Tormented ridiculed is that what I’m meant to be
Harder, heartless like the world bit that’s not really me
So I stand here before you, you see, now I’m me to be
This tortured mind will one day be finally set free .
