Hope

Hope
Sometimes I’m hopeful
Clouds begin to lighten up
Sun starts to shine through
Grey skies turn to blue
I see a future
A degree
And a job I love.
I see a marriage
Some kids
And even a farm
Most of all
I see recovery
Hope
Sometimes I’m hopeless
Clouds darken
The sun disappears
Blue skies turn to pitch black.
I don’t see a future
All I see is death
I imagine me laying,
Wrists slit
And gushing.
Or how about pills
Some alcohol too.
Shove them down the throat
And off to never land I go
