Shopping List short poem

Marbled veins like blood stopped abruptly
Pillars with natural lines
Not intaglio
So elegant, so delicate
Like a dahlia
But so strong
So steady

Perhaps the gods created marble
To look so effortless, but be so difficult to mold
If that was their reckoning

Marble of the gospel
Weave your beauty into our lives
Marble was everywhere
What if marble grew like grass
marble cars
Marble radio
Bargain sale marble
