लोगों में कुछ तो ढूंढता हूँ, जाने क्या अंदर नहीं रहता
जो सुकूँ आ भी जाए तो फिर, सुकूँ अंदर नहीं रहता

सीख ले हदें अपनी समन्दर, फिर समन्दर नहीं रहता
क़ैद गिरहों में हो जाए फ़कीर, फिर कलंदर नहीं रहता

ये चश्म- ए- कारीगिरी है, यूँ ही कोई सुंदर नहीं रहता
शीशा गोया दिल तो रहे, बहुत देर छू मंतर नहीं रहता

दुनिया है वो शय जीत के भी, जहाँ सिकंदर नहीं रहता
तो ख़ुदा हाफ़िज़ ऐ साहिल, मेरी किश्ती में लंगर नहीं रहता

छोड़ आए कि छूट गये, ख़यालों से दूर मंज़र नहीं रहता
साक़ी भुला दे याद-ए-रफ़्तगा, कि दिल बंज़र नहीं रहता
