Almost

Almost short poem

Gone beyond extendable territories,
Raging past the fierce wilderness,
Words were never spoken,
The time was never mentioned.

People almost do things:
He almost reached,
She almost left,
They almost gave in,
We almost failed.

Almost will not suffice,
It is not an honourable get away,
Almost is quite negative,
Almost is just a bluff.

One cannot almost love,
Cannot almost commit,
One cannot almost stay,
Cannot be almost there.

Almost is silence under-played,
Silence is a soft ‘no’,
A soft ‘no’ is a blaring denial,
This blaring denial is a cold heart.

That’s not even a heart then, it’s just almost a heart!

A Baby Named Almost long poem

Something ominous and undefined, illustrative and versatile. Something ambiguous, and something so subtle it hardly exists. Almost is all these things and more. It occupies life around its every corner. It is the grey between the blacks and whites, The
