The Hardest Part

The Hardest Part short poem

The hardest part of ending
Is starting over again
Troubled times buried in the past
And overcoming the pain

Staring at this empty room
A million questions fill my mind
Thinking back to happier days
Rather than how love can be so blind

Picking up the pieces
Of a heart that was so true
How do you fill the emptiness
Living a life avoid of you.

I know I need to move on
Though not an easy thing to do
Spend my days navigating an unknown path
That’ll guide me to something new

I see the way before me
Now where do I begin
The hardest part of ending
Is starting over again
