The Sahara

The Sahara short poem

The blazing sun it scorches the dry golden sand.
Up above a Red Tailed Hawk screeches it echo’s for miles
yet not another sound..
The intense heat waves add to the stillness
giving it a more desolate eerie and lonely place to be.
Yet so beautiful it is to see.
It’s where the sun shines its heart out
and the rain cowers on the outskirts afraid to enter its domain.
I stood on the edge of the Sahara and gazed into its openness
too afraid to enter.
