I Need A Man, Not A Boy!

I Need A Man, Not A Boy! long poem

I wish I could teach you,
The ways of men,
I wish I could change you,
Beard doesn’t make you a man,
I wish you could open your eyes,
And see the woman in me,
I wish you could know that,
I need a man, not a boy!

I need a man to cuddle me,
When I’m in tears,
I need a man to protect me,
The world is so cruel,
I need a man, who can provide,
You promised to cater for me,
I need a man, who is proud of me,
Not the one who hides me!
I need a man, not a boy!

I have taught you to be a man,
Men do not give up,
I have taught you not to fight with me,
Real men do not fight with women,
I have taught you to love children,
Marriage is incomplete without them,
I have taught you to find work,
Real men are providers,
I need a man, not a boy!

Why don’t you see my love?
I have only loved you,
Why don’t you see my effort?
I teach you daily how to treat me,
Why don’t you see you hurt me?
A real man protects his wife,
Why don’t you see I need children?
I’m so alone when you’re away,
Why don’t you see you refuse to grow up?
I need a man, not a boy!

I refuse to admit they were right,
Marry an older man, you will be happier,
I refuse to admit you are weak,
Age is just but a number,
I refuse to admit your love isn’t true,
You promised the world to me,
I refuse to admit we are falling apart,
Your effort can change our fate,
I refuse to admit you are a boy,
You do not need your mom all the time,
I refuse to admit that I will ever leave you,
B’cause your are my life now,
I need a man, not a boy!
