Fragile Resolve

Fragile Resolve short poem

I stray often
often from the path
I know is right,
it chips often
the “will”
I know could be my might.
I repeat them
no more can they be called
my fragile, my flimsy resolve
every now and then
it shakes!
I commit,
I repent,
I commit
the cycle continues…
the boundaries
that never got erected
owing to my formative abuse.
Have I lost it?
Can something be done?
I wonder on the possibility
if this battle could ever be won.
I don’t want to concede
—the fight within—
not as yet,
torrential currents
beneath a calm surface
you wouldn’t notice
I bet.
