Your Vote

He comes with a bowl of courtesy and begs
you to to fill the Bowl with your valuable vote

He promises moon and treats you like God
You feel special for his flattering words

Come the D-day to vote in the voting booth
On Your arrival you are given the red carpet welcome
by the agents of the candidates

You are on cloud 9 for getting special treatment and
you stand in the Que eagerly to cast your vote

Your term comes and your zeal to vote the candidate
reach the crescendo and you push the button which beeps
signalling end of your role and beginning of his misrule

You come out of the Booth smiling expecting acknowledgement
from the Agents of the candidate but they look the other way round

You feel hurt and bruised but take solace that their action was not intentional
you reach home with the satisfaction that you will get a leader of your choice

Results announced and your candidate won
You get excited and wants to visit him to garland

Thousands of his inner coteries are flocking his office
they all garland him, dance and distribute sweets
while you are pushed out of the Mela as if you have
come there to commit a crime

Days pass and your dream of meeting the one who you elected
fizzles out . None of the promises made by him has been attended to
While the personal work of his close aides are done in matter of moments

You get frustrated while he gets intoxicated
You cry for trusting him while he laughs
for fooling you

You wait for 5 years to teach him lesson
He enjoys power for 5 years to teach others lesson

He again stands for election and he parts
with the portion of the money he looted to buy votes
and comes out victorious yet again for looting afresh

You taking revenge on him remains a distant dream

It’s Campaign, Vote Wisely long poem

They lie about my looks, That I have horns, an ugly face, scary, That my haven is ever burning screams, burnt flesh, Yuck! I’m beautiful, handsome, all you will ever want, If its wealth, who can outweigh me? Luxurious houses,
