Cockroach short poem

Ever since I tied the knot
My identity is reduced to Nought

The Lion in me has been tamed
to become a cat in her kitty

Moustache which was my proud identity as man
has now been turned into a sort of irritating hairy caterpillar (ಕಂಬ್ಳಿ ಹುಳ )

My commanding Voice which used to send shiver in the spine
has now been reduced to the voice of a feeble dying old man

My smile which used to ignite the heart of the damsels
has been doused to such extent I often cry seeing my
so called smiling face in the mirror

I tried all that i could to get back as a commanding man
in front of my demanding wife

Nothing worked out and I was destined to be a second fiddle to
her dominant presence..

She could handle and tame any pets including me with ease

One day I heard her , screaming and crying loud calling my name

I rushed to the bed room to see what happened.
she was standing on the bed shivering
I saw a cock roach menacingly looking and going towards her

For the first time i saw my wife literally begging and surrendering to me
pleading to kill the cockroach

I felt elated at seeing my wife surrendering to me in total

I was in Ecstasy to imagine that I could now bounce back as the Dominant Man, I once was

I killed the cockroach in one stroke and threw it out

My wife was much relieved but in a matter of seconds she shouted back at me
for the delay in rushing to save her from the monstrous cockroach

All her fear, nervousness and politeness vanished in matter of seconds soon after the martyrdom of the cock roach

She was back in her dominating role as the chief in command of the army of we two

I am now reverted back to the position of an wounded soldier at the mercy of gun wielding army chief

Oh cockroach !!! I am ever grateful to you for getting back my proud manliness , albeit for a brief moment …
