All Is Not Lost

All Is Not Lost prose poem

Uploaded by Luke Sikwebu

All is Not Lost

To you without a partner feeling lost and alone
To you without food, starving broke without a home
All is not lost – you have a glorious life ahead
Do not dwell on the past, erect a brighter future instead

To you behind bars, shackled, wrongfully accused
To you torn and tattered, emotionally abused
All is not lost – you have a glorious life to live
You’re not forced to forget just find the strength to forgive

To you the rape victim, tortured by disease
To you the oppressed unable to cater for your needs
All is not lost – there’s great abundance within you
No matter how hard you fall, crawl, stand up and continue

To you feeling unworthy, dirty and sheltered in shame
To you feeling strain, crying, worn out in pain
All is possible through persistence amid passion
In addition to a good heart, self discipline, knowledge and action
