Fear Factor

Fear Factor long poem

Sitting on an elevated hilly place
on a bright sun shine day and
gauging the far away sea , seeing
its borders touching the skies,
Watching the movement of vehicles
down below on a well developed city with multiple sky
scrappers was a treat to my Eyes and mind

Instant blowing up of cool breeze and hovering of
dark thick clouds over the seas marked
sudden transformation of the scenario

Lashing of incessant heavy down pour down below
with the city looking murkier set the mind a little bit nervous

Thunder, lightening and deafening sound akin to
breach of huge reservoir created shiver down my spines

Falling of huge tress, crumbling of buildings, washing away
of those tiny doll like vehicles right in front of me was a
sight to shiver

When I saw the huge rising sea approaching me,
submerging everything down far below, I realised
it is the tsunami that has hit the shore and am seeing
my very world crumbling and washing away

I saw the people down below trying to save their life
climbing up the hill towards me but in vein and
slipping and washing away in the rising sea

Initially I thought I am safe and sound and saw
no chance of sea rising to the heights I am stationed in
But the enormity of the situation dawned on me when
the whole land below was now a sea of water and my
optimism soon turned to pessimism

From no where i saw huge fire spreading across the top
of the hill and when the heat touched me I realised it is
the double whammy of water and fire that has engulfed me
and I was caught in between devil and deep sea scenario

Without realising the impending danger of getting down the hills
I jumped down to avoid burning in fire and as I ran down, sea water
was rising towards me while the fire was fast moving towards me

I realised I have no chance to survive and the Agony of being dying
was UN bearable and at that moment i realised the worth of being alive
and shouted on top of my voice for some one to save me from the catastrophe

I stretched my both hands wide but could not prevent the sea from swallowing
my hand stretched down and the fire burning away the other hand stretched up

I tried my best to with hold the soul slipping away from my body and in the
process sweat from my body started flooding and as I bid good bye to
this world of umpteen wonder I heard a deafening sound of my alarm clock
ringing loudly to wake me up from slumber

It took me a while to realise I am still very much alive and all that i experienced
was in fact dream. But this dream taught me how agonising it is to Die and
what an Ecstasy it is to Live

Value of Life is best understood when one come out of jaws of death.
