Jealousy

Jealousy short poem

That dark and lurking shadow
With its looming sense of gloom
The overpowering pain it could bestow
Tearing into laughter and relations, slow

That dark and lurking shadow
Which so sullies the spark of life
Casting an eclipse of endless doubt
Like some evil shroud, adding to your strife

That dark and lurking shadow
It can rein in a galloping horse so fast
For it can blur a path that looked so clear
Clouding a path that was crystal clear in a not so distant past

Sibling rivalry be nothing, where even a mother
Can doubt a kin’s love for her child
For such my friend is the power of jealousy
Beware of the lurking shadow lest it becomes lone with you.
