Time To Depart

Time To Depart long poem

Routine activities seldom add pages to the life’s file
while human sentimental values take back stage

When my daughter decided to re-settle abroad
I felt happy for her taking the path of prosperity

As the D-day of her departure neared
jittery feeling of anguish in me cornered

Never was she out of my sight ever since her birth
thought of her going away put me in short of breath

Feeling of becoming older and feeble set-in
uncertainty of my very existence crept-in

Thoughts of what if I have to leave this world
abruptly without she being nowhere near around
pierced my mind

Will I be able to see her ever ?
Will I be able to talk to her ever ?
Will I be able to embrace her ever ?
Will I be able to hear her ever ?

For a moment I felt a part of mine detaching from my body

I know in this age of jet , distance is not a threat

Still the sight of she being out of sight has made the gap infinite

I have woken up to the fact that one may pretend to be tough
but when time comes to part, toughness of mind melts and
human emotions break the barrier and flows into uncontrollable
flood of tears
