Just Rain

Just Rain short poem

The rain came today
Little drops at first
Then, gaining confidence
Grew more insistent
Drumming on the ledge
With a rapid tattoo

The birds didn’t mind
They arced and soared
Laughing at umbrellas
And the rush for indoors

How beautiful, how wise
To be so unperturbed
By the fall
Of sudden rain
