Bridge Burning Down

Bridge Burning Down long poem

Well you ain’t been nothing but a thorn
in my side since you came into my life
I thought by now you’d take a hint
I don’t really want you in my life but
still you insist on coming over to my
house every dang night…
Well I know my mama told me not to
burn your bridges and so I guess it’s
my fault you keep hanging around, I
thought maybe someday I’d grow to
love you but there’s still no love here
anywhere to be found so I guess it’s
time to burn this bridge and burn it to
the ground, burn it, burn it down…
Well ‘cuz you’re nothing but a nightmare
in my life that just won’t go away, every
night, every day, I just clench my teeth
every time you touch me and oh God
Heaven forbid you try having your way
with me, how many headaches can one
person have till you realize I’m not in love
with you and I just wish to hell you’d set
me free…
Well I know my mama told me not to
burn your bridges and so I guess it’s
my fault you keep hanging around, I
thought maybe someday I’d grow to
love you but there’s still no love here
anywhere to be found so I guess it’s
time to burn this bridge and burn it to
the ground, burn it, burn it down…

Bringing Down

Bringing Down short poem

The road breaks here. Give me something to heal the fractured earth. Angels are too much for me, the gash turns inward ripping apart eternal vigil. They head into the burning books and then explode themselves on wet sands, generating

Burning Across The Sky

Burning Across The Sky short poem

Like a stingray it stung me tonight the new moon. A live flame lobbing the sparks. The seduction had bypassed the sleezy love of white egrets. When are you going to make a history by failing to fall? Can I

I Am Burning My Bridges

I Am Burning My Bridges short poem

To search you I am burning my wheels. Put your hands on my shoulders for opening the book. To read the message between the words. When the time comes I want you to smear my ashes on the stones of

A Bridge

A Bridge long poem

I approach the 160° turn to the left, The public toilets, still there. Those strange, Striped warning poles and a sign in Old engineering font (like London Underground, but rusted) saying ‘STOP WHEN BELL RINGS’. Up its gentle elevation to

Up And Down

Up And Down short poem

Up and down we go, Up and down we flow. Like cars on the main road, Racing through cross road. One is getting rich, another is becoming poor. Mr A is elected in, Mr B is elected out. Someone is
