Gum short poem

Uploaded by Paul Davis

From birth you are given a role many would deem inhumane
You are forced into clothes and put to work for selfish men
One day you are chosen to fulfil your duty
Even though your obligation will change you into something disgusting,
You still do it because you were born for your service
Diving into the unknown darkness, you are met with the unthinkable
Your worst fears come alive
When the day is done and your battle has been fought,
All that is left is a carcass of the man you once were
Stretched, drained, and morphed to a state almost unrecognizable
Defeated, you realize there is no way back
The realization of your fatal transformation is overwhelming
Discarded by man, you sit alone under the seats of the unharmed, out of sight
You hide your scared face from the world that made you
One day they will know the gravity of the damage they have caused
