Love: It’s A Choice To Make

Love: It’s A Choice To Make long poem

Love, beautiful and vibrant as we know,
Each of us experience this as we grow,
The emotions they say one can’t hide,
But does love also have a darker side?

It makes us laugh, it takes us high,
But does it also make us cry?
Things we do for love are endless,
But does it also make us helpless?

We want to love each other beyond infinity,
But do we somewhere leave behind our dignity?
We find ways to surprise each other,
But pleasing and pampering ourselves;
Do we stop to bother?

We make a pool of compromises,
Present ourselves in various disguises,
But do we find ourselves stifling in the same pool?
Realising that we have become an emotional fool?

These muddled feelings are confusing sometimes,
Makes me think hard on these lines,
At the end, it’s a choice to make,
If we want to accept all of it for love’s sake,

Love is an amazing feeling nonetheless,
Makes us happy, even if life’s a mess,
Either you embrace all of it, or none,
It can never be no misery and all fun.

It’s about walking alone or holding hands,
It’s about connecting those loose strands,
It’s about your heart’s most dominant voice,
It’s all about that choice.
