The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse short poem

Uploaded by Abby Cruse

Ocean waves drift
Walking through the sand
Image of the lighthouse gazed upon my eyes
I finally understand

A mysterious beauty rising in the far distance
I slowly approach the rusted, creeping entrance

My hair waving with breeze, vacant and weary
Creaking of steps, I softly embrace, fog begins its clearing

I gaze, to seek purpose
I trust, I am close to the surface
I see the end, the journey near
I imagine, beauty may appear
I feel, I could fly from the heavens
I am one, soaring with eagles and ravens
I burst, grace lifted from doubts
I am internally in love, thus the lighthouse

The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse short poem

The sail caught the wind; as did the hull catch the tide, Piercing the darkness, shimmered the feeble light, A constant companion in the dark… Wooing ships and sailors alike, The lighthouse, keeping its forlorn promise; Providing a sweet haven
