Now That You’re Gone

As the dawn comes to sight
The feeling of loneliness avail itself
With the nourishment of memories,
Memories we’ve built together.

I lie awake every evening,
So scared to close my eyes
Because all that is in my mind is you
And I have no idea how to reset my mind just to let you go.

I see all signs of your mien
Whenever I get in my room,
From the scent on my pillows,
To prints where you ever placed
your hands.

I often have ways to evade from hurts,
The ones brought by break ups,
But this time all I have is a
Dozen of memories holding me
Down whenever I rise.

I tried to be okay with the way things
Turned out to be, but later
Realized that it was all just an act
And that there’s no way to be masculine
About this kind of situation.

I guess all that is left for me
Is to take some time, Not to
Sulk but to mourn our separation
So I can have closure and
Move on with my life.

Hope you’ve found the right guy
To fill that spot in your heart.
The one you once assured me no one
Will ever take away from me.

But who can blame you?
Maybe it is for a good cause.
I wish you well…
