Do You Have A Conscience?

Do You Have A Conscience? long poem

Uploaded by Nancy Smith

Do you have a conscience?
Do you have some care?
Do you keep some secrets, or one you cannot bare?
Do you know the answer?
Do you know the why?
Do you think you need a simple, solid, alibi?
Do you know the reason?
Do you know the cost?
Tell me if they are breathing, or just simply lost.
Do you tell the truth, or jumble words to tell a story?
Don’t you waste my time, and don’t you even bore me, honesty for you seems a bit more gory.
Do you know the truth when its coming from your heart?
Or do you sit with class or make a smart remark?
Do you point a finger and say you’re not the blame, knowing you were there and there you did remain ?
Are you even guilty?
From God’s eyes you cannot hide, free will God has given, shame to not abide.
Was it really worth it?
What a compromise.
I think, you think, you’re sleeping, and you are not awake.
Speak up and say what happened, some people makes mistakes.
Some things we can give back, some things we can’t erase.
Do you take your time?
Do you ever pace?
Do you even cry or put water on your face?
Do you feel ashamed?
Or do you feel disgraced?
Or are you really here just taking up some space?
Are you like a blank page in a book?
Evidence is oblivious takes more than just one look.
Time is all one has, later on a crook, we find out what you know, or who you really took.
You don’t look too scared, I thought you would be shook.
Do you have a soul?
Are you really cold?
Come clean with all your dirty, before you grow too old.
It’s not too late…you still have a chance with God, and with God it’s no debate, because your soul could be the dinner, while the devil has his plate.
