Double edged Sword short poem

(these were supposed to be side by side because they had the same number of lines so it would have a mirror kind of effect… but I don’t know how to work that out yet.)

Isn’t it beautiful
how the cracks
and crevices
of your mind
can be filled
with a blossoming flower?
Its roots winding their way
into your brain
to the center of your being?
Every thought
now changed with new insight
like spring leaves
warmed by the sunlight.
It’s nurtured by your beating heart,
it expands
and it grows
until you’re completely engulfed,
and wading in the pure oxygen
it exudes.

Isn’t it terrifying
how one seed
can impact
one’s entire mind?
Implanting itself so
deeply into your brain
that you’re helpless to
the side effects
and held victim
by its vines.
Every thought
plagued and wrought
with false hope
buried deep within
your salted ground.
You desperately try to
dig out the roots
mangled with memories
as you fight to
